The name Simon Fuller will forever be associated with throwaway pop, thanks to the phenomenon that was The Spice Girls, or the current one that is S Club 7, but his latest teen sensation belatedly reveals a rare rock element.
As the title suggests, 15-year-old Amy comes on like an 'oh-so-meek' little girl as this, her debut single, wistfully begins but suddenly, out of nowhere, the music spasms into gear with a full-on rock chorus that'll even blow the mascara off all those disgruntled goths out there, staring at their shoes.
"Don't ever underestimate what I can do," the Vanessa Paradis look-a-like hollers towards the end, by which time you're starting to think it's rather sound advice.
She may be 15 but she certainly doesn't look or sound like "just a little girl."
