What's wrong with the great British public? Don't they know a great tune when they hear one? Well, if the chart performance of the Pet Shop Boys' last single is anything to go by then, no, they bloomin' well don't!
With its delicate melody and electronic backing, Home And Dry was Neil and Chris at their very best and what happened? It scraped into the chart at No. 14. It's criminal - especially when you consider that the likes of Shakira and Mis-Teeq have been stinking-up the charts like nobody's business.
Luckily, as they're not the kind of guys to let the public have the last laugh, the Pet Shop Boys have dusted themselves down and unleashed their latest weapon, a crowd pleasing, guitar-laden, lager-swilling sing-a-long anthem to end all anthems.
I Get Along is the kind of great stuff that Oasis were churning out circa 1995 (What's The Story, Morning Glory). But of course being a PSB production it's got that wry sense of humour and that melancholy twist that Noel Gallagher could only dream of.
That said, the tune is so rousing and so catchy that even non-PSB fans will find themselves tapping along to it when - indeed, if - they hear on the radio. Of course, it probably won't be a massive hit as that MCing jackass from Mis-Teeq will probably be hogging the top of the chart.
