Of course it's a free country and everyone's entitled to their own opinion, but seriously, on what planet are Alphabeat not the most annoying thing to happen to music since Steps? Mika, The Darkness, Aqua, Sonia and Same Difference from "X-Factor", rolled-up in one ultra-sunny, horrifically jolly bundle of "Blue Peter" ready fun, the relentlessly smiley Danes bounce about like a Eurovision entry on Prozac and it's not like they're even being ironic.

Second single, "10,000 Nights", is a love song of painfully ecstatic joy, with the predictably nonsense chorus of "Give me 10,000 nights of thunder and I will give them all back to you / Because you're so ohhhh, so ahhhh, so good", and it's enough to make ears bleed from the cheeriness. It's "High School Musical" for grown-ups who should know better yet can't resist their perky, bright, eager to please, charm. Someone, please, make it stop.
