Label: Warners
Some things just shouldn't go together. Brothers and sisters, babies and shredders, hip hop and hard rock. Hasn't Busta Rhymes heard Puff Daddy's grisly collaboration with Jimmy Page on "Come With Me"? Didn't he notice how Eminem sank to a career low when he sampled Aerosmith on the fatuous "Sing For The Moment"? Little wonder this collaboration with Linkin Park sounds forced, uncomfortable and flat.
Not content with breaking one rap rule, Rhymes - like Eminem - also makes the deadly mistake of thinking we should care about his path to fame and fortune, the way he had to "fight for sales" to make money for his "children's children's children". Which makes him sound like a pushy and pompous estate agent. The real revelation of "We Made It" is how past his gabbling, gonzoid peak Rhymes is and how achingly formulaic Linkin Park have become.
