This is probably a pointless review. If you haven't already been swayed by the whirlwind of excitement surrounding Blackpool's Little Boots, by her victory in the BBC's Sound Of 2009 poll, YouTube clips, Guardian magazine front cover or rhapsodic reviews, then you're probably one of those people who prides themselves on ignoring hype and a few more breathless words won't make a difference. Your loss. "Stuck On Repeat" - this EP's lead track - is far, far more exciting than even the most fervent of her fans has suggested, one of those rare songs which makes you remember the mind-bending excitement of discovering pop music for the first time. Essentially a monster reworking of Donna Summer's "I Feel Love", built on relentless slabs of synths and topped off with a melody as sharp and bright as a diamond toothed saw, it makes you want to run screaming in the direction of the nearest dancefloor. Do not listen to this on public transport. The other songs are a slightly disappointing piano version of "Meddle" (hunt down the original: it's brilliant) and an agreeable disco version of Freddie Mercury's "Love Kills", but you'll probably be too busy making "Stuck On Repeat" live up to its name to notice.
