The self-confessed 'prat in a hat' environmentalist who owns five Ferrari's' returns with his fourth album, the previous being 1996's 'Travelling Without Moving' which has shifted over seven million worldwide.~
Jay Kay originally recorded the new material with bassist Stuart Zender who left the band last year, forcing Jay to totally re-write the entire album due to royalty issues.~
'Synkronized' is the result and sees Jamiroquai return with a harder edged, disco-inspired sound.~
Standout tracks include the analogue funk of 'Planet Home', the trancey digeridooof 'Supersonic' (to be remixed by Prodigy's Liam Howlett) and the downtempo ballad 'Falling'.~
Detractors will criticise thealbum for sounding too alike.~What cannot be denied is that Jay can sing, writes a mean song, dances like no other, appears in top videos and is going out with Denise Van Outen.~
Like his other work, 'Synkronized' will grow on you.~
