But in the US, only The Beatles and Elvis Presley stand in the way of her on the all-time lists with 13 chart toppers in just eight years.

They’re all here from Vision Of Love onwards, along with new duets with Whitney Houston and Brian McKnight and a cover of Do You Know Where You’re Going To.

Her last album underperformed here by her own standards, but this really is perfect Christmas market material.
