Spearheading the next wave of French house, Phillippe Zdar and Boombass release their debut album as Cassius.
They have previously recorded as La Funk Mob as well as producing MC Solaar.
There are strong elements of hip hop, disco and drum & bass in the mix, but mostly it is funk which comes to the fore.
Rather than lifting obvious retro samples, the duo create a sound that is wholly contemporary.
The single Cassius 99 is currently on Radio One's As Featured List.
