Whilst not in anyway disappointing to the EBTG fan, some might argue that this album could have been much more interesting than it has turned out. The first single and album opener 'Five Fathoms' has all the ingredients of an irresistible deep house monster but seems to hold back from creating the full hypnotic swamp because it is forced to go easy on the vocals. Likewise, 'Blame' is an expertly produced drum 'n' bass track that is just crying out to let its bottom end trample all over Tracey's gentle voice. The two no longer seem as perfectly in tune as they once were, Ben's production is most suited to Tracey's vocals on the slow stuff. Deep Dish's mix of 'The Future Of The Future (Stay Gold)' demonstrates the success of a more straight-up club approach to producing the vocals, messing around with them a little more, and forcing them into a more fully throttled production.
