The much anticipated debut album from Cardiff''s progressive/breakbeat/hard to pigeon hole trio finally arrives and proves it''s been worth the wait. With their first two singles taken from the album, ''If I Survive'' and ''Finished Symphony'', paving the way for their individual sound it''s refreshing to see the diversity of sounds they''ve achieved on the album. ''Wide Angle'' is that rare thing for a dance long-player - music that can cut it in a club environment, yet has the depth and sophistication for home listening. Some of the standout tracks on the album are aided by the vocal talents of Julee Cruise - for instance the melodic, string heavy atmospherics of ''I Know''. Other standouts include the uptempo club vibe of ''Theme From The Wide Angle'' and the out-and-out dirty breakbeat of ''Beachcomber''. ''Wide Angle'' has something for every mood from an act who are definitely one to watch out for.
