Hard and uncompromising, that''s Krust - both the man and his music. ''Coded Language'' starts tuff''n''mean and continues that way, even Morgan''s vocals don''t alleviate the darkness. Stand-out track has to be title track ''Coded Language'', which is also the single. This song is pure power - moody, gritty and wonderful - and features the awesome Saul Williams, who has worked with rap acts including The Fugees, Erykah Badu, KRS1 and De La Soul, on vocals. Other tracks like ''Tribute'' are minimal in the extreme with heavy, heavy bass and queer little stabs of sound. Morgan appears on tracks such as ''Re-arrange'', ''Excuses'', ''Overture'', ''Spoils of War'', her throaty, virtually spoken, virtually tuneless vocals lying uneasily on top of Krust''s intricate rhythm programming and breaks. He asks you not to listen to his music but to feel it and he''s right. It''s a total body experience.
