Mr Oizo is the pseudonym of eccentric French film director Quentin Dupieux, the creator of equally eccentric music. The Gallic guy first came to fame with the success of 'Flat Beat', used in the Levi's commercial which starred yellow muppet Flat Eric. All the tracks on 'Analog Worms Attack' are a variation on this theme, keeping to the same simplistic song format of buzzing beats, heavy sounding yet catchy riffs and drones, although the album does mash in some scratches, vocal samples, bleeps, white noise, heavy beats, funky guitar samples. The tracks are all short, very short in some instances, and he likes his strange song titles: 'Last Night A DJ Killed My Dog', 'Inside The Kidney Machine' and 'Smoking Tape' for starters. The overall impression is of funky grungy buzzing that's got to make good driving music. And the track 'Flat 55' will soon be helping to sell jeans on Levi's website.
