Debut album from the German trance maestro highlights ATB's undeniable production finesse and ability to traverse musical genres with ease. Of course you get your fair share of trance anthems following in the wake of '9PM (Till I Come)' - the second biggest selling single in the UK this year - but there''s also more clubby based tracks, some ambient, chilled breakbeat and a cover of Adamski and Seal''s early rave hit ''Killer''.
You also get extra helpings of that slide guitar sound as used on the breakdown for ''9PM (Till I Come)'' - even the follow up single ''Don''t Stop'' uses the same sound with a only minor variation on the key changes.
That said, ATB really comes into his own on some of the downtempo tracks - ''Beach Vibes By EFF'', ''ZwischenStuck'' - which are beautifully textured, melodic and well composed. It''s quite a tall order to produce a trance based album which will stand the test of repeated listening, but ATB seems to have come up with the goods and affirms his position as Sash! minus the cheese.
