Released on 25/10/1999
Label: Wall of Sound
Akasha have given up their prized album ''Cinematique'' to the greedy paws of a host of remixers with some groovelicious results. First off is ''Crazy Baby'' an itchy and shuffly mix by current trendy guys Groove Armada which is a great opener. Next up is Interfearance''s mix of ''Mescaline'' with an appropriately eerie intro. Dorfmeister does a wicked whispery scratch-laden version of ''Soft & Melting''. On to CD 2 and first up is Sloop John Barillo''s seductive hiphop take on ''Maximum Karma'' with some top raps from Faithless vocalist Maxi Jazz. Les Rhythmes Digitales goes suitably weird, wacky and atonal on ''Brown Sugar'' while the Smug Brothers go deeply squelchy on ''Akasha Theme''. Cool down with Salt City Orchestra''s ''The Blues pt 1'', again featuring Maxi Jazz.
