Mark Harbottle and Jean-Claude Thompson produce a jazz-tinged take on everything from ambient drum ''n'' bass to vocals and deep house very often hitting the mark and creating richly textured soundtracks to clubs like London''s ''That''s How It Is'' and the sorely missed ''Balance''. ''Enchant Me'', included here, is one of the most softly persuasive and beautiful vocal tracks of the year as well as an irresistible club shuffler. The boys are prone, however, to the odd lapse into self-indulgence that usually results in tunes which are too inoffensive to command the same attention as the aforementioned. That said, the gentle jazzy deep house cuts, which make up the body of this album, are well suited to repeated home listenings and it would be unfair and pointless to ask this release to deliver club cut after club cut.
