'Summer Of Sam' is the soundtrack to Spike Lee's controversial new movie of the same name which is set in The Bronx during the summer of '77 when temperatures soared and a psychopath dubbed Son Of Sam started gunning down people at random. The album neatly captures the spirit of the film and the atmosphere of the times with some classic tracks including Marvin Gaye's 'Got to Give It Up', Abba's 'Dancing Queen', Roy Ayers 'Running Away', Chic's 'Everybody Dance', Machine's 'There But For The Grace Of God Go I' and the spine tingling 'Don't Leave Me This Way' by the golden voiced Thelma Houston. An exhilarating experience.
