This is indeed a melange for the next century. '21st Century Ska' is a riotous and rampaging collection of ska stylee tunes that mashes up breaks, beats and future technology with ragga, hip hop and dub in a full flavour skankin' experiment. The album acknowledges its debt to the likes of Two Tone and original ska as it drives headlong towards the future. Along with masters of reggae fusion such as Adrian Sherwood, Freestyler Matt Cantor and partner in crime Roy Merchant, and General Narco aka Dub Pistol's Barry Ashworth, there are also some fresh new names including Hardwire and Pick & Mixed feat Velvet Jones on a ska hip hop tip, Freaky Jalapeno in booming breakbeat, skanked up mode and some nu skool funky ska from Fat Stack.
