A seamlessly blended compilation of Basement Boys cuts put together by - the obvious choice – Mr Tony Humphries, this is timely as the producers' profile is currently as high as it has been since their mid-nineties peak. The tracks on show here prove that in between the classic bass-heavy garage mantras there have been some rather less spectacular moments when the crew's penchant for sample repetition and, well, repetition in general got the better of them. One thing that is clear in this chronological selection is that the production has been getting progressively more slick, with tracks like 'Believe In Me' and 'Bad Girls' representing the very lush essence of a classic Saturday night at the Ministry Of Sound in NY garage's heyday. Incidentally, the mixing is suspiciously perfect!
