Label: Ninja Tune
Kid Koala takes a pretty unconventional approach to the creation of turntable music, using more unusual sound sources than the average decksmith. The vinyl mashed together here ranges from jazz and easy listening to zither and classic American TV samples. Perfect for those looking for something a little different to Q-Bert and the like. As Ninja themselves point out, the question that arises from this sort of stuff is whether or not an album like 'Carpal Tunnel Syndrome' constitutes music. It's certainly a work of turntable skill extrodinaire but the album doesn't really offer a coherent musical whole. One for the Scratch generation.
