Lexi Love may have kicked Roni Size and crew off the stage back in the early days of the Bristol drum&bass scene for caning the 'Amen' break, but Roni's overindulgence didn't put him off the emerging sound, far from it as this album shows. 'Too Fast Time' gives the nod to the early days of jungle then blends in Bristol-style jazzy'n'funky drum&bass, a dash of Metalheadz cool and tougher London breaks in the vein of his mates Freq Nasty and Headrillaz - he used to MC for Headrillaz. The album is stuffed with classic sub bass rumbles, fat squelchy sounds, pads, reverb-laden, dubbed-up grand piano, techo-influenced lines and some wicked little synth riffs that make you snap to attention, all overlaid with gruff, muttered vocals that add weight to Lexi's musical vision.
