Artful Dodger re-run their fingers through a crop of 2Step tracks and re-mixes, updating their Re-Rewind compilation, and pick on current favourite production teams such as Sunship, Trick or Treat, MJ Cole and of course re-cuts of their own.
The compilation kicks in with the funky, bare breaks of the original of 'Women Trouble', before working its way into Trick or Treat's mix of Baby D's 'Let Me Be Your Fantasy' and Sunship's cut-up rendition of Craig David's '7 days'.
Having firmly established the territory, the Artful duo throw in their own mix of Sisqo's 'Thong Song'. And so the bump and grind beat fest rides again, taking in Shola Ama's 'Imagine', under the bottom-end boost treatment of its Club Asylum re-mix.
An ultimately accessible collection - featuring garage renditions of classic tunes such as The Brand New Heavies' re-run of the Young Disciples' 'Apparently Nothing' - this is as applicable for the party circuit as it is for the 2Step devotee. Which is not say the harder end of things aren't represented here - such as DJ Zinc's acidic '138 Trek'.
United under the cut and swing of the 2Step beat, and occasionally slipping into its break beat roots, this is for the most part an easy listening but powerful package of energy. The would-be surprise being the by-now predictable inclusion of Timo Mass' remix of 'Dooms Night' by Azzido Da Bass' - which surely must be the strangest UK garage hit of summer 2000.
