The album that brought Bryan Adams to the attention of the world, and a pretty good illustration of his raison d'etre ever since - glass-voiced rockers and stratosphere-reaching ballads.
There's a cornucopia of highlights to choose from and, since most of the album became singles, they all have become radio standards.
'Run To You' will possibly remain Adams' crowning glory, with an ice-cool riff and snapping drums framing this passionate tale of forbidden love.
The joyous 'Somebody', with its call-and-response chorus, and the nostalgic 'Summer Of '69' also prove the Adams/Vallance songwriting team can consistently pull memorable, heartstring-tugging rawk out of the bag.
Meanwhile, the duet with Tina Turner, 'It's Only Love', allows both parties to flex their tonsils. And out of all the singles, only the dumb 'Kids Wanna Rock' sticks out somewhat.
A thoroughly enjoyable collection and a rock album the way rock albums should be.
