Part of the ongoing '20th Century Masters' series, this compilation is a bare bones introduction to the Swedish wonders, containing just 11 of their greatest hits.
One could argue all day about what has been omitted, but it's a reasonably representative selection, and almost in chronological order. Having said that, the inclusion of the minor hit 'I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do' at the expense of the likes of 'Money, Money, Money' and 'Super Trouper' is completely mystifying.
Still, the dancefloor fillers - 'Waterloo', 'SOS', 'Mamma Mia', 'Dancing Queen' - are there, interspersed with a clutch of ballads - 'Fernando', 'Chiquitita', 'The Winner Takes It All'.
The album's budget price compensates for the paucity of tracks on offer, but for an introduction to ABBA's greatest hits collection there's still no bettering 'Gold'.
