Three years ago things were looking good for London five-piece, Damage. After chart success with their singles, 'Love II Love', the title track of their debut album, 'Forever', and a cover of the Clapton classic, 'Wonderful Tonight', Andrez Harriot, Noel Simpson, Coree Richards, Rahsaan Bromfield and Jade Jones fast gained respect for their fresh R&B vibe.
Unfortunately it all went wrong when Damage's record company, Big Life, was dissolved and the lads were left high and dry just as they were set to unleash their sound on the US. Not content with moping around and crying over the, er, damage, they signed a new deal with EMI Records and jumped back on the roller coaster of pop last year, brandishing two new smash hits, 'Ghetto Romance' and 'Rumours', taken from their second offering, 'Since You've Been Gone'.
Songs like the current single, 'Still Be Lovin' You', the tender 'Tears' and 'After The Love Has Gone', the dripping-with-soul cover of the Earth, Wind & Fire hit, show off Damage's ability to deliver a love song with the smooth sophistication that would make even the hardest of hearts melt.
But Damage are at their best when they're shaking it to their trade-mark pop-drenched, upbeat R&B numbers. 'I Don't Know', the seductively sexy track which features Jade's lady, Emma Bunton on vocals, the hip-swivellin' party feel of 'Feelin' Me' and the deliciously cheeky, 'Good Folk', make 'Since You've Been Gone' an album that was well worth the wait.
The perfect soundtrack for when you're getting ready for a night on the town or preparing yourself for that hot date. So sit back, pour yourself a glass of wine and let Damage do the rest...
