ATB proves he can do more than just wield a mean pitch bender with his new album Two Worlds, so named because it's a double CD with very different feels on each disk - a more uplifting vibe on disc 1 and a chiller feel to disc 2.
CD 1 is collection of atmospheric trance tunes, spiced with scatterings of jazz, classical, rock and funk influences. Some are coolly sad in feel - like 'Loose The Gravity', 'Love Will Find You' ( the first single from the album) and 'Feel Like A River', both of which feature the sweet vocals of Canadian rocker Heather Nova - or bouncy like 'The Summer' (which features on both disks in different versions).
He teams up with Dutch producers York on 'Fields Of Love' for an archetypal trance work out and goes on a quirky trip with US country band Wild Strawberries for the funky flavoured 'Let U Go'.
CD 2 is moody and laid back, tracks like First Love and Feel You bubble along like a summer spring, cool and fresh; others have an atonal feel like Engrossing Moments which ripples over a shaker.
He collaborates with Enigma on 'Enigmatic Encounter', a filmic piece which is indeed enigmatic, hinting at the unknown.
The album appropriately ends with 'Endless Silence' proving He has a sense of humour.
