Cafe Del Mar resident, Phil Mison is as at it as the rest of them by getting an ultimate Ibiza compilation out at the same point in time as nationwide travel agents write their little package deals to San An up in every window from Skegness to Truro.
Available on double unmixed CD, mixed CD and 3 piece vinyl set, the tracks which made the final roll call, on what is essentially an ambient compilation, vary in hauling point from the States to Japan, Belgium, Canada, UK to France.
Artists we would expect to appear on a comp of this type, like Chris Coco and Lennie Ibizarre, combine with the deep house of Kevin Yost and A:xus which in turn sit equally happily with the eclectic ramblings of Dr. Rockitt (Matthew Herbert) and Bent, and also the world chill of Calm and Infernal.
The obligatory White Island song titles get a good look in, from Jam & Spoon's 'Hispanos In Space', Rockit's 'Cafe de Flore', Sotomayor's 'Es Vedra' and Trumpet Thing's 'La Sonadora (The Dreamer)'.
To be honest, my time in Ibiza is clouded to say the least, I think this snippet probably achieves the dreamlike qualities reached in various locations, but, like a lot of the tracks on this compilation, it's difficult to remember despite probably being beautifully perfect.
