Sweden's YMC, aka the Yunk Music Collective, turn in an album of surprising elegance and great beauty.
Surprising because intensely cool house is not what you'd necessarily expect from the joyous land that spawned Abba, the Freddie Mercury toothed The Hives and comeback legends, Ace of Base.
Earlier this year YMC sent a demo out to three labels. Naturally each one of them offered contracts and YMC eventually opted for Deep Dish's fine Yoshitoshi! Imprint.
Featuring throbbing four to the floor house, it exhibits class, as opposed to simply trying to move your ass. Rarely, for a house album, it begs to be rewound time and time again.
A beautiful rejoinder to shallow trance and hard house productions, even after the record's finished the rhythms continue to circulate and gyrate, throwing shadows through your body like traces of ecstasy.
