This follow-up to Fat Joe's 1998 gold album Don Cartegena is another wild ride into the tuff territory of hardcore rap. Look out for that parental guidance sticker.
Fat Joe aka Joe Cartegena hails from the South Bronx. He likes to blend his neighbourhood vibe with his Spanish heritage to produce stylish rap that he feels all rap lovers can identify with. It works a treat on such tunes as 'King of N.Y' featuring Buju Banton, 'Fight Club' with MOP and Petey Pablo and 'Opposites Attract' with Remy.
The album is produced by a stunning array of rap heavyweights: Rockwilder (Busta Rhymes, Redman), Irv Gotti (DMX, Ja Rule) Psycho Les (Mos Def) and Alchemist (Talib Kewli) and features an even more stunning array of stars: Ludacris, Busta Rhymes, Armageddon and, amazingly, soul veteran R. Kelly who guests on 'We Are Thuggin', the excellent first single from the album.
