Though it may at first seem like an unlikely union - an outspoken master of politicized steely breakbeats and drum & bass's soul Latino brother number one - the teaming up of T Power and Shy FX has probably been on the cards since the two met a few years ago at seminal jungle label S.O.U.R.
The connection then was drum & bass of course, but since those early days, both producers have independently shown themselves capable of making power moves in a variety of styles.
This LP follows hot on the heels of the hugely successful 'Shake Ur Body', the Latin r & b tune that recently helped propel drum & bass into the mainstream again.
Drawing on their heaps of experience, the duo refuse to let any one sound dominate and instead offer a delectable spread of sounds that draw heavily on uniqueness of the British urban experience.
The album has a breakbeat-centric flow, running the gamut of breaks styles from smooth, bumpin' r & b (vocals courtesy of Kele Le Roc and Charmaine), to blustering hip hop jams (including the potent title track featuring Fallacy), more slick d & b and a smattering of dancehall flavours (most notably 'Nature' featuring the gruff elegance of Elephant Man).
Many of the tunes included here carry the kind of infectious hooks and shiny dancefloor punch that made 'Shake Ur Body' so popular, and it's no real suprise that this release successfully dwells in the golden chasm that lies between commercial success and underground credibility.
