Perfecto release another seamless collection of some of the finest clubland tunes of the moment.
'The Perfecto Collection' is bursting with a mixture of progressive house and trance classics, exclusive mixes and tunes so fresh they're still warm from the pressing plant.
New tunes include Space Cowboy's unreleased groover 'The Dub' by alter ego DJ Chrome Vs Terpsichord - farty synth sound underpins a chirpy tune with S Express stylee sirens that undulates along in a most satisfying fashion - and 'Mortal', a previously unreleased and exclusive Paul Oakenfold biggy, which takes us down to laidbacksville with its simple top line guitar, reminiscent Moby's current style.
Other Oakie tunes on the album are more upbeat and include dark and dirty chart stormer 'Starry Eyed Surprise' (Oliver Lieb mix), the deliciously dubby 'Ready Steady Go' (Layo & Bushwacka mix) and 'Southern Sun'.
Timo Maas serves up a spookily evocative vibe with his excellent track 'Help Me' which features wild-haired R&B diva Kelis on vocals. It's all spaced up by the Deep Dish 'Attacks Mars' mix (if you've seen the Mars Attacks film, you'll appreciate how masterful this mix is). For Timo fans, another inclusion is instrumental track 'Shifter'.
Flash come in harder and faster with a couple of solid slices of house. 'Closing Session' gets evocative with deep bell-like sounds and eerie vocal samples, while 'The Day After Remix' gets the subtle synth treatment.
Jan Johnston is represented with 'Flesh' (Noel Sanger's 5am mix) and the rich vibe of 'AM:On Pause' (Oliver Lieb) mix. A Split Second are also on the meat: their track 'Flesh' (Trailer Trash mix) is an anthem breakdown offering that has 'big-on-the-floor' written all over it.
And if this isn't enough, there also tunes by Russian crew PPK, Mach 747, Jada, Nilo, Mark James & Pee Wee Ferris, 29 Palms, Dope Smugglaz, Bill Hamel & Rosario, Leama, D:Fuse & Ryan Maunder, Hernan Cattaneo, Roland Klinkenberg, and DJ EMJay & Asouter.
