Oscillating between hip hop, house and techno, 'Jefferson Avenue' is a statement about dance and soul music in 2003.
Detroit's DJ Assault, aka Craig Adams, opens proceedings with 'Accelerated Funk', which, as the name implies, moves the funk-up the bpm scale to create a firing piece of melodic techno.
'G-String' is a humorous piece of tech-hop, while 'Freak It' stretches the bpms so much it almost becomes broken beat or dub step.
'Bounce' is part Zap and part Heavy D, while the stand out 'Strictly 4 Tricks' is a superb piece of techno breaks.
From here the LP becomes progressively more techno orientated with 'I Love Pussy' exhibiting Adams' ability as a funky and musical techno artist, while 'Sometimes' is a pure broken beat anthem in the making and Girls is a rare example of hip house working.
