The Advent comes from the hard school of electro, where snares sting like an electronic whip and melodies sound like an argumentative gaggle of electricity pylons.
'Light Years Away' takes on an electro stride. Tracks such as 'Pinch', 'Dawn Of Light', 'Mind and Spirit' and the excellent break beat tinged 'Mass Media', are great examples of their electronic idiom - while the mutated space disco of 'Gamma Rays' is the track most likely to end-up in cross over boxes.
Creating an album of electro that's listenable in one sitting, let alone improves as it goes on, is not bad going. And, despite some hard edges, this is an almost cuddly album.
