TKO are a brand new girl band who are very busy working the school and under-18s club scene. 'Not another girl band' you cry – but inside the gig, the crowd, who are mainly teenage girls, are obviously in the mood and eagerly anticipating the band.
Suddenly the girls spring onto the stage and burst into their first number, 'Give Me Your Love'. This is a fast dance song and is just what the crowd wants. The second song, 'Body Yearnin,' is much slower and the crowd's interest begins to wane. However, the third and final song (phew!) is the perfect way to finish the performance. 'Girlfriend' is a fast pop/rock track with a catchy chorus, but nothing you haven't heard before.
The dancing is very energetic and full of life. The girls have had ballet lessons since they were two (which is where they first met) and it definitely shows.
So, if you're wondering who TKO really are. Well, they're three teenage girls from Warrington, Emma and Katie - aged 17, and Joanne – aged 18. The girls pride themselves on not being your average manufactured girl-band - they each have their individual look – and you can tell it's natural.
The girls have a website, www.tkomusic.com jam-packed with information, where fans can interact with each other and the band. So check them out to see if they'll deliver the knock-out punch to the competition!
