It was all a load of general "nonsenseness", as DJ Clive Henry put it.
Anyone familiar with Phil Perry's legendary Full Circle nights out in Slough will know exactly what he's talking about.
For seven years, Full Circle was THE premier groundbreaking Sunday house/techno club. Now resurfacing for one-off events, it's good to see the old vibe and all the old faces still there, firing off as if they've just heard the music for the first time.
The always mischievous Clive Henry kicked off the night with his particular brand of tough, bumpy house, pulling the right up for it crowd onto the dance floor, and onto the tables no less, although it was barely 9p.m. His Peace Division mix of Agent Sumo's 'Sunflowers' set the pace for a funky ride.
Lord of the underground, Phil Perry, drove it down deep and dark with the first airing of 'Our Time' under his Autonomous Soul guise, before the place erupted to X-Press 2's 'AC/DC'. People were falling off tables by this point, and at about this time someone brought out a bunch of inflatable "alien hammers", a sort of blow up hammer with an green alien on the end, for everyone to amuse themselves with.
DJ Robin Ball held court the whole night in the upstairs room, with funkier, uplifting house, and a few old classics, whilst downstairs Dan Kahuna went all acid house for a crowd who remembered it all from the first time.
It all goes 'round in a Full Circle, you know.
