Seb Fontaine may well have filled his shoes as the club's resident but Paul Oakenfold's name is still very much associated with Cream by the clubs faithful followers.
His two year stint as the club's resident has left an indelible mark, a fact that was underlined as the man took to the decks at Creamfields to a chanted reception of "Oakey, Oakey, Oakey" echoing from the start to finish of his set.
For some packed into the massive Cream Arena, this was close to a religious experience - as one of the world's biggest DJs deftly mixed his familiar style of uplifting, euphoric trance, epitomised by current floor-fillers such as Delirium's curiously titled 'Silence'; which is anything but that.
Oakenfold's pace starts out in fourth gear and accelerates. By the time he ends his set with the Euro-tech madness of Kernkraft's sing-a-long Ibiza anthem 'Zombie Nation', you're left in little doubt that, despite his time at Home and weekly residency at Pascha, Cream is where Oakenfold's heart is.
