It doesn't seem quite a year since London's latest superclub opened it's doors with a massive party and queues stretching around Leicester Square.
From the huge queue on this night, it's quite obvious now that the appeal certainly hasn't diminished. The atmosphere inside crackles with anticipation as Steve Lawler kick starts the ever growing crowd who storm the dancefloor to his tough, pumping house. Party people are jostling for space around the balcony, podiums are packed, and the floor is a throbbing mass of arms in the air.
A revolving neon light beams, "Danny welcome home!" Smoke machines start to fill the room, the beats drop, and a roar swells from the centre as Danny Tenaglia steps up to the mic to introduce himself to a crowd well familiar with his seamless, deep, bass-heavy sounds. The effect of hearing him play is like a fantastic journey on an underwater rollercoaster.
Liquid bass erupts from volcanic peaks, then flows down into cool, dark depths, before building up again, layer by layer. He pushes out the long throw bass like no one else, and tests the system to the limit. Dark atmospherics reverberate, then rise up to meet the beats and bass as they kick in. Lights flash, and the air seems to explode in purple, before raining strobe-lit sparkles on the masses, just as Danny drops a perfectly timed vocal track.
Everyone's definitely with him for the ride tonight. It all comes to an end with one last record that says it all - 'My Definition Of House'. Home. Many happy returns!
