Joi release the first single from their forthcoming album One and One is One, giving a taster of their typically downbeat mixture of rock guitar and breakbeats. Though this is hardly the 'unique' blend of Western dance, hip hop and Asian forms that the press release would have us believe. In fact, it could be argued that Joi have not moved as quickly into new, progressive realms as fellow Asian fusion artists, Talvin Singh and Asian Dub Foundation. JP
