From dotmusic's album of the year so far comes this the opening track, smoothed out just a little to seduce those radio stations not already under its spell. The Flaming Lips make slightly skewered melodic rock music with a drum sound that would terrify Phil Collins. It sounds like it's going to collapse at any moment, but that's part of the magic. There won't be too many singles this year about scientists that come complete with a hook to die for so get one while you can. We've said it before but this is a work of genius and you must hear it.
