The Offspring come slamming into action with 'The Kids Aren't Alright', the third single from their million-selling album 'Americana'.~
It's a rollocking romp of a song, more in the style of their first mega hit 'PrettyFly (For A White Guy)' than the rather disappointing follow-up 'Why Don't You Get A Job.'
The hard yet melodic guitar intro is underpinned by big big drums, then rhythm guitar. Peppered throughout the song are well crafted guitar licks that don't smack of the so-often-repeated, self-indulgent hard rock solo.
It is a message song in a cool uplifting way with strongly and passionately worded lyrics tempered by lots of 'Way O's' which guarantee a hands-in-the-air reaction and lots of singing along at live shows (or in the car perhaps).~
Join in the fun when The Offspring play Reading and Leeds festivals at the end of the month.
