The All Seeing I were threatening to blow up for a long time and since doing so they've been having minor explosions ever since. The latest is '1st Man In Space' which their record company are hoping will re-start the rumble that will lead to the full-scale quake arriving with the release of the album 'Pickled Eggs and Sherbet'. Fair enough. '1st Man In Space' is a more than worthy successor to the immensely successful 'Walk Like A Panther' which again features the idiosyncratic lyrics of Jarvis Cocker, this time sung by Human Leauge's Phil Oakey. Plenty of homespun Sheffield wisdom combines with the unique production of The All Seeing I and a little help from New Order's 'Blue Monday'. On the flip the boys remind us what it was like to dance around in northern nightclubs in the early 90s, (seems like a long time ago and all that..). JP
