Christmas singles in the chart have been generally conspicuous by their absence these last few years. But, given her surprising chart-topping exploits this summer, Jane McDonald has already made a mockery of what the industry safely predicts will and won't sell.

Her first single, this medley treads a familiar Yuletide path combining White Christmas, Winter Wonderland and Santa Claus Is Coming To Town, though rather than a Spector Christmas is more Singalong-a-Max.

Plenty of TV appearances and the presence of once-a-year buyers in record shops could turn this into a big hit.
