In which Primal Scream return like a bloodthirsty arsonist to the smoking, gutted wreckage they left behind. Over two years since the phenomenal `Vanishing Point', which fused their rocking sensibilities with more low-brow but futuristic electronica, `Swastika Eyes' is a haemorrhaging stab of electro fury. Propelled by a revolving, incessant bass-line and lines like "blood in my eyes…my vision is clear" and "illusion, not democracy", this barnstorming track is very much needed. Fundamentally about the debasement of corporate ideals and the destruction of the establishment, Primal Scream will slay the dancefloors with this mighty return, while also creating a desperate thirst for their sixth album, due March 2000. This is an evil, claustrophobic sting of record and it hurts as much as it heals.
