Tall Paul - 'Mr Spring presents ‘Blaxxtraxx 3 (Funky Nassau) (W2)'

)
Released on 29/11/1999
Label:
Ever since last year's Armand Van Helden remix (followed by mixes for Tall Paul, Josh Wink, Bucketheads and on and on), Dublin DJ Mr Spring aka Tim Hannigan has been on the up. He's forged a unique sound that looks like putting his home town firmly on the map. Originally released a few months ago as a limited white label, 'Blaxxtraxx' caught the attention of Pete Tong and Judge Jules and hit the spot with Norman Cook who dropped it at the Eclipse Festival, live on Radio One. Club land has been equally enthusiastic and you can see why Mr Spring's sound is being called the next big thing to follow trance. This enthusiastic track is liberally sprinkled with 70s elements – damp horns, deep bass, funky guitar – mashed up with the sounds of the 90s – top percussive sounds, samples, techno wizardry. 'Blaxxtraxx' is mad and brash and fun to be dancing with.
