With much to live up to following Rae & Christian's excellent 'Northern Sulphuric Soul', Aim's debut album 'Cold Water Music' offered that uniquely Grand Central take on hip-hop soul including a collaboration with DITC mic controller AG. This release sees them mine the rich soul side of the project with vocal assistance from Kate Rogers. Laid-back and a little mournful, this brings to mind Massive Attack and Portishead but treads a rather less murky path, keeping the production on a straight hip-hop tip.
