With a handle as awkward as Lu & JII Hoo, this deep house duo is clearly not angling for Radio One playlist-friendly grooves. Which is a relief following the alarming commercial success of the label's recent Mr Oizo single – we don't really want the label responsible for the wonderful Messieurs Garnier and Galliano going all 'sell-out' on us. Consistently eclectic, F Comm have put out everything from African percussion to pounding techno during their impressive history. Here they turn their attention to the deep house talents of Jori Hulkkonen and Finish vocalist Lu. Whilst not as fruitful as Matthew Herbert's deep house-meets-chanteuse outing 'Around The House', the concept lifts itself above the coffee table by virtue of some rather lovely production on the Jori Hulkkonen remix. Fellow FComm act Elegia also turn in the goods with their interpretation which bubbles along in fine form with icy snares and breezy chords.
