Following the awe-inspiring joy of 'Pra Manha' was always set to be a tricky task for Patrick Forge and co. and it's fair to say that they haven't rushed to take on the challenge. But, it is good to be able to report that this long-awaited double A-Side shows no lapse in quality. 'Rio Vada' should just about satisfy those craving the rich acoustic pleasures of 'Pra Manha' and, in fact, steps further into the textures of Brazilian music than its predecessor. Whilst 'Rio Vada' is unquestionably the one for the dancefloors, the taught percussive rhythms and gentle acoustic guitar of 'Rain Song' should stimulate interesting responses at the end the night – beautiful drums.
