'Devil Inside' steps with the current popularity of vocals in drum 'n' bass and cooks up a vibe not a million miles from the Breakbeat Era flavour. Pulsating sub-bass propels the track whilst the vocals are kept to the level of compliment to the really important ruff stuff – a dub is included for the vocal-shy. 'Connections' is a Grooverider favourite and it's easy to see why. A minimal but funky stomper, it employs jazz elements without succumbing to cliche and builds into a hypnotic groove that is rudely broken and then steadily restablished – a nicely produced track. With two more tracks, the quality is kept high and, throughout, nice production touches distinguish this from the drum 'n' bass throng.
