This first single from Q-Tip's acclaimed debut solo which arrives following the disintegration of A Tribe Called Quest comes with production from Tribe staple, Jay Dee of Slum Village. So, taught minimal production and hard but simple beats are the order of the day. It's a good track but not vastly dissimilar to the Tribe's finer moments on their last, rather uninspired album. Q-Tip is unquestionably an essential creative force in hip-hop music but over recent years he has often impressed most as a guest MC and/or producer. The album proves that there is new life outside ATCQ and this single, whilst not any radical departure, gets its swerve on very nicely.
