Released on 06/03/2000
Label: Relentless
Monie Love, aka London lass Simone Wilson, first made her mark as a teenager when she was featured on Queen Latifah's 1989 single 'Ladies First' taken from Latifah's groundbreaking album 'All Hail The Queen'. Since then Monie Love's own singles have had mixed success although with this new song she seems poised to make her mark in the more sympathetic climate of Y2K. It's a strong slice of tuff girl rap over an itchy yet insistent groove with a contemporary urban feel which sees it sit nicely alongside fellow female rappers/R&B stars Missy 'Misdeamenour' Elliott and Kelis. The Mousse T radio edit emphasises the catchy vocal refrain and groove in a way that ensures the song becomes truly memorable.
