)
Released on 15/05/2000
Label: WEA
Having ridden as high in the charts as the cheekbones on his face, Swedish songsmith Andreas Johnson returns with the second single from his 'Leibling' long player. Not a celebration of Monopoly or Trivial Pursuit, 'The Games We Play' is the obligatory ballad, which despite eschewing the anthemic rush of 'Glorious' has epic written all over it. The sort of song that will have fans holding their lighters aloft it comes complete with stadium filling power chords, and has Andreas musing over a relationship in a somewhat wounded and clumsy fashion. Employing cringe worthy, pseudo poetic clangers and sounding like Bono after a few too many fags he ultimately decides that no matter how problematic matters of the heart can be we are all hooked for life. Taking himself all too seriously and no doubt believing this to be something quite profound, the boy Johnson is ultimately heading for stalemate. Game over.
